Bringing a car into Czechia
What a country charges to put a foreign car on its own plates is usually the largest term in a cross-border comparison: on one identical EUR 15,000 car it runs from about EUR 33 to about EUR 16,000 across Europe. Every figure below carries the document it came from and the date it was last checked. Where we have not verified one, this page says so instead of printing a number.
Registration tax
None VerifiedCzechia levies no registration tax; entering a car in the register costs an administrative fee of 800 CZK. **There is a separate emission charge and it does apply to imports**: a category M1 or N1 vehicle that does not meet at least EURO 3 owes 3,000 CZK (EURO 2), 5,000 CZK (EURO 1) or 10,000 CZK (EURO 0) on first Czech registration. It is a charge rather than a tax, and is excluded here for the same reason every fee is. It is not small, and this service cannot tell you whether it applies to a particular car: our listings do not record an emission class, and no source we hold dates the EURO 3 threshold.

Tolls and road charges
Vignette VerifiedA time-based vignette is required to use the motorway and expressway network. No separately tolled structures for cars; the per-kilometre mýto is for vehicles over 3.5 t.
All vehicles with four wheels and a maximum weight of 3.5 tons have an obligation to purchase an electronic vignette.
The limits below are the ones that attach to a worked example: a car first registered in 2019, old enough that no age-based exemption changes the answer. A newer car can be answered differently, and the records above say on what.
