Tolls and road charges
No general charge VerifiedNo general road charge applies to a passenger car. The line is drawn by vehicle category rather than by weight, so N1 vans under 3.5 t are charged. The e-vignette runs to 31 December 2026 and distance-based Via Toll replaces it from 1 January 2027.

The limits below are the ones that attach to a worked example: a car first registered in 2019, old enough that no age-based exemption changes the answer. A newer car can be answered differently, and the records above say on what.
